job description

nuun is looking for a senior accountant to join their finance team. the individual must be able to wear many ‘hats’ and willing to roll up their sleeves. the individual will have exposure to all aspects of the business through alternating roles with other team members. the role is responsible for the company’s general ledger, technical accounting research, and alternating the revenue and expenditure cycles. this role also includes the ownership of third party tools that facilitate these processes. the ideal candidate should have an accounting/finance education, a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience and a strong interest in a healthy, active lifestyle


general ledger

  • own company’s general ledger to provide structure that supports reporting and analysis for our fast growing business
  • research gaap to determine appropriate accounting for new or unique transactions


  • partner with the supply chain team to ensure that inventory/cogs are properly accounted for
  • evaluate obsolescence and propose entries to inventory reserve

alternating between the revenue/receivables cycle and the expenditure/payables cycle

  • establishing and ensuring compliance with policy and practices
  • ownership of third party tools; innovation to make more efficient
  • revenue/cycle: billing through to cash applications
    • analyze chargebacks to improve full-cycle process and reduce expenses
    • evaluate collectability of accounts and propose entries to bad debt allowance
  • expenditure/payables cycle: procurement through to payment
    • including prepaids and accruals

month-end closing preparation

  • record-keeping and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • review of monthly income statement
  • preparation of executive and board reporting

this role will also assist in budgeting and work closely with the cfo and department managers

education and experience:

  • accounting/finance degree
  • at least four years of relevant work experience
  • cpa license is a plus
