Running for me began in the spring semester of 8th grade in 1999. I competed in track and cross country throughout high school and did the same in college. After college, I took a two year break from running competitively to focus on other things. Wanting to better my college personal records, I decided to give running a try again in January 2010. I joined the Fleet Feet Racing Team then and with the guidance of a former college teammate (Will Rodgers), I ran faster than I ever did in college. In August 2013, I started training under Mark Hadley, the coach of the 2016 US Marathon Trials Project. Under his guidance, I've been able to race competitively in several half and full marathons and join the Saucony Hurricane Racing Team, as well as achieve my ultimate goal of qualifying for the Olympic Trials Marathon.
