I started riding mountain bikes on rugged Minnesota deer trail when I was 12 and entered my first race at the age of 15. I've taken a few breaks from it in my life but have been training and racing consistently for the past 3 years, and 2013 will be my first full year racing Pro. For me racing is a way to really face myself, to keep myself in check. In the really tough events it's impossible to hide from your own weakness, it's impossible to be sheltered. Riding, on the other hand, can be pure bliss. It doesn't get much better than floating some really nice singletrack!
