Less than 3 years ago, I was just another SoCal beach bum. I surfed, played a lot of beach volleyball, softball and baseball and frequented the happy hours. Then in June of 2013, a challenge to do a sprint triathlon coupled with the fear of FOMO sprung me onto this journey into the world of endurance sports! Since crossing that finish line in 2013, I've gone on an endurance rampage and completed 17 triathlons including Ironman Florida. Racing is fun and there's a somewhat selfish and vain part to the process. But in partnering with the Children's Tumor Foundation charity, I found a higher purpose and a cause to race for. I learned more about the struggles of others and what I can do to raise awareness for those in need. I hope to use this newfound energy and inspiration to start racing for a cause going forward!
