When I'm not swimming or biking or running, I run a medical device startup company called ActivAided Orthotics making wearable rehabilitative devices for sports medicine applications with the aim of keeping active people on the move. I founded the company in 2011 based off of an engineering class project I worked on as a senior in college. I coincidentally find myself in leadership roles quite often, and am running for President of my local Pittsburgh Triathlon Club for 2016 in order to help move the club's new goals an initiatives forward. I am joined in my triathlon pursuits with my co-adventurer and boyfriend Kyle, who is the best training partner, equipment advisor, and race supporter any one could ask for, plus our 3 year old rescue dog Josie who routinely gets more likes than anything else posted in my Instagram feed.
Over my first few years in triathlon, I have several overall wins at regional events, placed in the top 10 overall at USAT Age Group Olympic Distance Nationals, and am the reigning F25-29 Long Course National Champion. My goal for 2016 is to turn my focus to the most competitive olympic distance non draft triathlons in the US with the goal of capturing the top spot on the amateur podium. Each season has been an incredible journey, leading to many adventures and priceless friendships. I expect to continue to enjoy triathlon as a lifelong pursuit of passion, and hopefully one day racing at the highest level in the sport as a Pro!
