Kristen grew up in Dayton, Ohio and moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2005 to train professionally. She has now qualified for three Olympic Marathon Trials ('08, '12, '16) and is currently ranked 13th in the US in the marathon with a personal best of 2:32:48. She had the opportunity to represent the US in the World Half Marathon Championships in Nanning, China in 2010 and continues to dream about putting on another US uniform, this time in Rio. When Kristen is not running she enjoys working in the yard, spending time with family, wine and beer tastings, and cooking with her husband, Justin. She runs for Brooks and is coached by her step-dad, Craig Sherman. As Kristen has faced many obstacles on her journey she always perserveres. She hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams and never give up!
