After I graduated from Princeton University in 2014, I was given the incredible opportunity to chase my Olympic dreams and join an elite triathlon program called the Collegiate Recruitment Program! I was quickly immersed in a whole new world after being a single sport athlete as a runner and swimmer previously. While my aspirations to become a Physician's Assistant are on hold, I am grateful each day to travel around the world, chasing an endless summer, and dedicating my days to being the best triathlete I can be. Each day is a learning experience, both about the sport and within my self. Its been a whirlwind so far and I am ready for all the adventures and challenges that await me!
Ranked 289th in the World on the ITU points list after my rookie season in 2015. *this ranking is from only racing 4 times after earning my professional https://instagram.com/mkhiggin/ license in 2015 due to major injuries from two bike crashes (fractured back and sliced open foot/fractured toe, respectively). I am hoping to make huge jumps into the top 100 rankings in 2016. 1st Female | San Diego International Triathlon 1st Female | Tri Rocks San Diego At Princeton: 1st Team All Ivy Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field '11, '12, '13 US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic 2012 All-American, Scholastic All-American, and All-State swimmer in high school.
