My name is Allison Byers and I am a 28 year old runner from Baltimore, MD. I work in community outreach at a non-profit health organization, and live with my fiancee, Bobby, and dog, Alfie. Running has become one of my biggest passions in life, which I could never have predicted given my hatred of running in high school! I started running in college to clear my head, and since then, running has given me more than I could have ever imagined: confidence, motivation, discipline, positivity, community... I could go on forever. As cheesy as it sounds, I truly believe that running has shaped me into the person I am today.
I am extremely proud to say that I am a two-time (soon to be three!) marathoner. I didn't always feel so proud of these accomplishments (5:47 and 5:48 net times), and sometimes I still don't, but I've learned that sometimes just putting in the training, running strong and happy, and getting to the starting line is a huge accomplishment. I have also run three Ragnar relays, three half marathons, and many other races. I recently ran my half marathon PR of 2:14 and am hoping to PR and run a sub-5 hour marathon in 6 days!
