I am a college professor of Environmental Chemistry in Vermont, a homesteader, and an ultramarathon runner. I am the type of person that is always moving, is involved in multiple ongoing projects, and is striving to make myself or my students better people. The combination of mental and physical endurance that it takes to compete in 50 to 100 mile trail races has been a perfect fit for me over the last few seasons. I am a dedicated, organized athlete when it comes to training that likes to incorporate social media (my blog, Strava, Twitter, and Facebook) into my workouts and race planning. I am always looking for new challenges and the discipline of ultramarathoning provides me with seemingly endless possibilities to truly test my endurance.
