I am a Chartered Accountant by day, training triathlete all the time and mom to one fur baby!. I live in Edmonton and can be constantly found exploring new territory in our extensive river valley (which is North America's largest urban landscape). I have been active my entire life from basketball, to running, to playing in local squash clubs. I was introduced to triathlon by a friend after I was tired of being stuck inside during the summer playing squash and I signed up for the newbie clinic our triathlon club puts on annually. I got hooked after finishing my first sprint, it felt like death but I wanted more. I am entering my third year of triathlon and have decided to go big or go home and registered for my first Ironman race!
I have been on the podium at several local triathlons in both the sprint and Olympic distance. In 2015 I signed up for my first Ironman 70.3 in Calgary, my secret goal for the race was 5:15 if I had the perfect day, after a disaster of a swim (course was about 400m longer) I came in at 5:18 and 4th in my age group and managed to PR a half marathon.
