In the past few years running has become a huge part of my identify, while balancing full-time work, a 2.5 hour commute and two kids under 10. I am first and foremost a runner. During marathon training cycles I can often be found standing in the bathroom in my underwear with a glass of nuun and posting on instagram post long run and pre warm shower. Having been injured since an October 2014 marathon where I qualified to run Boston, I have focused on recovery and added swimming and cycling to my life. 2015 has been a year of DNSs and DNER (do not even register) for half marathons, ultras and what I had hoped would be my first triathlon... but my mileage is building again as I prepare to train for Boston 2016 and being an ambassador would be a great kick in the pants that I need. I turned 40 in June and am looking forward to finally being 'Faster as a Master' when I can start doing speed work again.
I qualified for the Boston Marathon in 2014 and am registered to run in 2016. I have run 3 marathons and 7 or so half marathons. I'm hoping to race my first triathlon in 2016 and maybe even the 50K that I wasn't able to do this year.
