Nuun is my go to for hydrating during and after long training runs, when I get home from shorter runs and after long days when I know I haven't had enough water. Though I identify myself primarily as a runner, Nuun is also the only thing I'll drink during and after Bikram yoga. Sweating it out for 90 minutes in a room heated to well over 100 degrees is rough stuff and I never walk into a class without Nuun in my water bottle. After years of uneducated dabbling (which resulted in a dysfunctional, on/off relationship with shin splints and stress fractures), I got serious about running in 2005 when I ran my first half marathon. Since then, I've logged several more halfs, a few shorter distances, six relays and after years of saying that 13.1 was all I needed, ran my first marathon in 2011. Since then, I've become even more attached to 26.2 and have set a (very long range) goal of hopefully someday qualifying for the Boston Marathon. I can't imagine my life without running and I can't imagine running without Nuun. Thankfully, I don't have to!


This past year, I'm most proud of my half marathon PR - 1:44:53 - which was good for an AG third place at the Newport Marathon & Half Marathon in May 2014.

My marathon PR is 3:57:07 and I look forward to crushing that - hopefully in the next year.
