A marathon runner and personal trainer, I was in the middle of training for a Boston qualifying marathon when I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer this past March at the age of 32. I have had to sideline the BQ for now but have continued to run throughout treatment and maintain a positive attitude and outlook on life. I wasn't about to let cancer knock me down. It's given me a greater appreciation of life, and made me that much more eager to qualify for Boston once I'm done treatment in the spring. I have always loved nuun and used it in training, and it's especially important for me now to make sure I'm well hydrated and nuun makes it easier. I am also on the committee for the 2016 Bust A Move event here in Edmonton which is a 6 hour fitness extravaganza that raises valuable funds for cancer research and clinical trials. It will be held March 19, 2016 and hundreds of people will take part exercising for 6 hours straight for such a great cause. I'm so excited to be part of it.
I raced two years of cross country in college. I've run 2 full marathons and 11 half marathons with a PR in the half of 1:36:01. Countless other races at distances from 5k to 15k. Hiked the West Coast Trail in 2013 and itching to get back.
