I have been running for about 9 years and I am constantly learning about myself. Running gives me clarity and is my therapy. I love how running allows me to explore both where I live and new places I travel to. I have ran races from 5k to 42.2k both on the road and trail. In the last couple of years, I have learned that my body prefers longer distances and not the shorter, faster ones. I still complete in all distances though because they challenge me. I also enjoy yoga, hiking, and cycling. I love being active in my community and volunteer at events any opportunity I can. I feel it is my way to give back when I am not racing.
My biggest accomplishment I have to date is running the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon on May 24, 2015. It was my first marathon. I had set a goal of 3:30 and ran it in 3:28. I also qualified for the Boston Marathon and will be running it in April 2016. I look forward to that experience. For the last 4 years I have taken part in the Frontrunners Island Race Series _ VIRA and each year I work towards bettering my time for each of the races that take place every two weeks from January to April. I give my best at each race I compete in and at before the start of each race I say to myself _run your run
