I started running on my high school track team but at the time I wasn't in love with running. My love for running slowly grew through college as I trained and ran 2 half marathons (finished around 2:18). They were extremely difficult and I never thought I would be able to finish in under 2 hours. I trained a little harder for the next one adding in speed work to my weekly runs and finished my third marathon in 1:58. This sparked a fire in me that has continued to grow as I've completed 8 more half marathons and 3 full marathons. Running is my passion, it's my stress relief, it has become my favorite part of each day. I am a physical therapist and I always tell patients "find what makes you tick, it may not be running, but whatever it is- find it!" I think physical activity is a crucial part of each of our lives. I love that I get to encourage people on a daily basis to get stronger, work harder & incorporate as much physical activity into their day as possible.
