My name is Lindsay White. I'm 27 years old and I am deeply obsessed with running and being active. I love running all distances from the 5k to the marathon. I have completed 6 marathons since my first in fall of 2012, and many other shorter distances since that time. I started using Nuun a few years ago after trying it at a local half marathon and loving the flavor (my first Nuun experience was Lemon Lime). Nuun is a great electrolyte supplement for me, as a celiac disease patient, because it does not upset my stomach, it helps me reenergize, it's a much healthier alternative to other sports drinks, and it tastes delicious. Some of my other interests include hiking, dogs and animals, reading and writing (professionally), eating and cooking gluten free, and exploring metro Detroit!
Some of my greatest accomplishments as a runner are: 1) Completing the 2015 Boston Marathon: This was one of the most physically demanding races I have ever done, and I am fairly certain I faced hypothermia in the late miles and especially upon finishing. I ran a 3:10:39 and was not exactly ecstatic about my time, but now when I go for a run in similar conditions (rain, wind, low temperatures), I think about how I overcame the challenges in Boston and finished without walking! (Can't say I didn't hit the wall, though!) 2) Running my first sub-3:00 marathon: I am proud and still somewhat surprised to share that I just completed the Chicago Marathon in under 3 hours! When I first started running in late 2011, I had never ran more than 3 miles at a time. I never thought I'd qualify for Boston, let alone run a 6:50 pace for over 26 miles! 3) Surviving Michigan winters and training continuously outdoors! It is both physically and mentally challenging - sometimes more so than a marathon itself - but I feel incredible pride when I complete a tough run outside in sub zero temperatures, incredible winds, and ice pellets or snowflakes to the face.
