sport: running

I am a committed athlete, student and constant athletic event volunteer in Vancouver, British Columbia. I train with Vancouver Thunderbirds T&F and with Vancouver Football Club--a High Performance Soccer League. I am a Principal's List Grade Ten student at Kitsilano Secondary School, with a strong interest in Engineering, based on my tendency towards math and English. I am completely bilingual in French, as it is spoken in my home as well as English. My short term goals are to maintain an academic standard sufficient for college scholarship plus produce Performance List standards over the next two years. I am hoping that these short term strategies will enable my long term goal to earn a scholarship (academic) and to race track at the University level in Canada, or the Collegiate level in the US. I am the middle child or three, sandwiched between two very athletic brothers. I am a dog lover, as my family recently adopted an adorable 9 year old senior rescue Pug named Crosby.

accomplishments:

I am a provincially-ranked track & cross country athlete. I have just come off my best and most enjoyable racing season, setting PBs at almost every distance from the 800m (2:30), 1500m (5:06) to the 8km (Canada Running Series Modo 8km age-group gold medalist). I have been coached by Chris Johnson and Stan Jang at Vancouver Thunderbirds for 3 years. My key goals are to maintain Principal's List status at school, make a provincial track team to Legion Nationals, and earn a scholarship to College in the US. I also compete and play for High Performance League soccer here in Vancouver BC, for the Vancouver FC Metro Selects (Right back). In July '15, we placed 2nd in the BC Provincial 'A' Cup, which is a national selections showcase tournament. My most recent athletic accomplishment is a 25th place finish at the Provincial Cross Country Championships, out of a field of 258 Junior athletes, likely one of the toughest races I have ever run, and one of the most rewarding. I am sponsored by a well-known running store in Vancouver (Lady Sport and FitFirst Footwear) who provide some race funding and gear for me. I very much appreciate their support of my track/XC and soccer development and recognition of youth development, in general.
