As a multi-sport athlete in a very small East Texas town growing up (tennis, softball, cheerleading, track and xc, marching band--don't laugh, it's very physical!) I was a fairly mediocre runner. I attended TCU but only ran occasionally to stay fit. It wasn't until after college when I pursued a career in the running industry that I became more serious about training. Eventually I was given the opportunity to run for D2 Queens University of Charlotte under coaches Scott Simmons and Jeff Gaudette, and that's when my potential really began to take off. Now I race distances from 5k up to the marathon and am currently training to qualify for my second Olympic Marathon Trials!
