I am a mom to 4 young daughters, wife to my sole mate runner and blogger. I work full time and remain dedicated to my overall health by running at odd hours to "get it done". I used to run successfully in high school and college; then I took an almost 20 year break before being coerced into competing in a 'mud-run' event just 6 months after my youngest daughter was born in 2012. It was love at second sight even though I couldn't run more than a few steps without stopping! Since that fateful mud-run I have run in 15+ 5k's, 10+ half marathons, a full marathon and most recently an ultra marathon earlier this year.
I love to share my love of running with others. I am able to reach so many runners and athletes on my Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/ThisMommaRuns where I have over 11 thousand followers I also have a blog at www.thismommaruns.com. I love to inspire people to be themselves and believe in their dreams. This running journey has taught me that along the way while I've been trying to inspire others, they have actually inspired me as well.
Completing my first marathon in 2013 in 4:31
Training for and completing my first ultra marathon in 2014. I ran a 50K in 5:25.
Super proud of my fastest half marathon in 2014, 1:48. I was thrilled to go under 1:50.
Competing in Ragnar Relay 2014. Running from Madison to Chicago, IL.
Helping my oldest daughter, Julia -age 9, fall in love with running. Running her first 5k's with her...now watching her nip at my heels as she has brought her time down to 27 minutes.
Many age group division 'places' over the last 2 years.
My college 5k PR is in the upper 18's but my current 5k time of 23:43 means the most as I ran it in memory of my late father on the anniversary of his passing.
