Natalie Stiffler competed in her first triathlon at the insistence of her friend and colleague in 2007. Like many athletes, she dipped her toe into the sport by riding a used bike, wearing cotton socks, and fueling her body with frosted flakes. Since that first triathlon in 2007, Natalie has learned to consume only the most chemically-enhanced performance nutrition, spend copious amounts of money on top-of-the-line bicycles, and wear only synthetic fibers to aid her performance. More importantly, she dove head first into the world of year-round training and maintenance, finding a balance between work, family, budget, and triathlon, and keeping up-to-date on the industry.
Natalie played collegiate water polo for UC San Diego - class of 2009. She was on the Cal Poly Triathlon Club team from 2009-2011 and went to Collegiate National Championships in 2010. She competed in her first full ironman in August 2015 at Ironman Boulder and placed 5th in her AG. Natalie's goal for 2016 is to qualify for Kona.
