I joined the marathon scene in March 2007 with a 5th place finish at the Little Rock Marathon, and I was hooked! The past 9 years have included 18 marathons, 21 half marathons, and countless shorter races. I also continue to open my eyes and heart to the entire running community and the indomitable spirit of runners everywhere. After I finish a race, my post-race schedule includes returning to the course to cheer for as many runners as possible - each one is inspiring! When I'm not training or racing, you can find me hanging out with my husband and our pets. We enjoy living in an area with great brunch/lunch spots, donut shops, coffee shops, and brewpubs within walking or biking distance - yum!
I have amassed several race wins, in multiple 5ks, a 10k, a 10-miler, a half marathon, and two marathons. My most recent big win was also a PR at the February 2015 Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham, AL, in a time of 2:52:27. Other PRs include: Half Marathon - 1:25:04 (Indianapolis Monumental Half 2015) 10-mile - 1:04:13 (Hoosier 10-miler 2012) 15k - 56:54 (500 Festival Training Series 15k 2012) 10k - 38:39 (BTN Big 10k 2013) 8k - 30:54 (Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 2013) 5k - 17:53 (Big Ten Hoops Day 5k 2012) I am also proud to be a part of the elite field for the 2016 LA Marathon, and will be looking to make a big step toward a qualifying time for the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials. While the standards won't be announced for some time, the LA Marathon will be an important race to test my fitness and race skills against great athletes, and hopefully break into the 2:40s for a new PR.
