What’s the secret? We asked some of our goal-achieving Nuunies their tips and tricks to setting and sticking to a goal.
Form Habits
Joshua Bell, Nuun’s Creative Director, advises folks not to rely on motivation alone. "Motivation is temporary. Discipline is a better driver. It is learned and established, and relies on forming good habits. So focus on staying disciplined, even when you're not feeling super motivated,” he said.
How do you nail down discipline and habit? There are many tips and tricks to train your mind. Our brains are adaptable, able to change habits and learn new things.
If you’re struggling to find discipline, consider creating a support system around you to hold you accountable. “For me, training with friends is fun and also having the commitments means I will make the time for the training,” said Gillian Hall, Field Marketing Vancouver. “It’s important to get the training in if you want to enjoy a race. So my plan for success is lots of bike and trail miles with friends.”
Keep Going
If you’ve found yourself sinking in the I-didn’t-achieve-my-goal quicksand: slow down and reset. “Remind yourself of the process, all the highs, and lows and how much you had to overcome just to be able to go after a goal,” said Vishal Patel, Director of Product Development.
