It’s a monumental day in the Nuuniverse: We are now a Certified B Corporation!
This milestone is years in the making. We have always believed in doing business responsibly and staying true to our values. Today, we’re honored to join the ranks of well-known changemakers like Patagonia, Allbirds, Ben & Jerry’s, and Tentree, to name just a few out of 4,000+ B Corps around the world.
We see our new B Corp status as more than a way to certify and celebrate our wins; it also impels us to keep improving. Every three years, we’ll undergo a re-assessment to measure our progress and find new opportunities to make a difference.
Keep reading to learn more about this exciting chapter in the Nuun story and some B Corp FAQs.
What is a Certified B Corporation?
Certified B Corporations are businesses that balance purpose and profit. They meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. B Corp certification is an in-depth process that takes months or even years to complete.
What is the B Corp mission?
B Corps represent a global movement of people using business as a force for good. With responsible practices, we have the collective power to create a more inclusive and sustainable world.
How did Nuun become a B Corp?
We underwent a rigorous assessment and verification process through a third-party nonprofit.
Certified B Corporations achieve a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment to measure a company’s impact on its workers, customers, community, and environment, and make their B Impact Report publicly available to all.
Is anything else changing?
We have reincorporated as a public benefit corporation, so our values are now embedded in our company DNA. Certified B Corporations amend their legal governing documents to require their board of directors to balance profit and purpose.
Which Nuun products are certified?
All of them! This is a certification of our company and business practices as a whole.
What comes next?
Every three years, we’ll undergo a re-assessment to measure our progress and find new opportunities to make a difference.
